Our mission is simple: Bring the performing arts directly to students, inspire young audiences with live song and dance, and help those looking for creative outlets find pathways into the arts within their community.
Founded in 2024 by Corey Strauss and Caroline Mendiola, MagicBox Players is a traveling theater with a goal of bringing a wide range of customizable theatrical aspects to each school visited. From 100 year-old musical numbers to fantastical costumes, lighting, and sets. We want to make theatre accessible by bringing it straight to campuses in the Central Valley.

Corey Strauss is a Central Valley–based theatrical designer and director dedicated to creating imaginative productions and supporting local artists. With over 20 years of experience, he designs and directs across California serving as scenic designer and technical director.
Caroline Mendiola
Caroline Mendiola is a Modesto-based theatre artist and arts professional who believes in bringing live performance directly to young audiences. After years performing onstage, she expanded her work behind the scenes, developing skills in production, marketing, and arts administration.
